Child Safety Standards

How Haunted 365 protects young people, and how to report a concern.

Our standard

Haunted 365 has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. That includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, and any sexual content involving someone under 18. The standard applies everywhere on the platform: profiles, posts, comments, photos, messages, catacombs and haunt pages.

Content that breaks this standard is removed. Accounts that break it are suspended.

Haunted 365 is part of The Haunted Platform, operated by Dreadful Damsels.

Who can join

You must be 13 or older to create an account. We do not accept sign-ups from anyone under 13, and a parent's permission does not change that.

Members aged 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian. A teen's account stays inactive until a parent or guardian approves it from their own adult account, and that adult must first verify their identity. If no one approves within 48 hours, the teen's account is deleted.

How teen accounts are protected

  • A teen's profile is never visible beyond the people they are connected with, whatever privacy setting is chosen.
  • Teens cannot be found in member search by anyone they are not connected with.
  • Adults cannot start a private message with anyone under 18, and cannot add anyone under 18 to a group chat.
  • Members aged 13 to 15 cannot send private messages.
  • Members aged 16 and 17 can message only people they are mutually connected with, and only if a parent or guardian has turned messaging on.
  • A teen cannot join or read a catacomb (a community group) without a parent's or guardian's approval for it.
  • A teen can be tagged in a photo only by a mutual connection, only if every guardian on the family account allows tagging, and only after the teen approves the tag.

Reporting and blocking

Every profile, post, comment, message, conversation and catacomb has a Report option, on the website and in the Haunted 365 app. For anything that puts a young person at risk, choose Child safety as the reason.

Reports go to the Haunted 365 safety team. Filing a report does not notify the person you reported, and it does not notify a parent or guardian.

You can block anyone. A block ends any connection between you, stops their private messages to you, removes their posts from your feed and stops notifications from them. The person you block is not told. Teens can block, disconnect from or mute anyone at any time, including a connection a parent or guardian approved.

When a report involves a child

When a report is marked Child safety, the reported account's records are automatically preserved for at least one year. They are kept even if the account is deleted, so they are not lost.

Our team reviews every report. We can remove content and suspend accounts. A suspended account is signed out everywhere and cannot sign back in.

Child sexual abuse material and the law

We comply with child safety laws. In the United States, that includes reporting apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first.

You can also report child sexual exploitation directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
